the first issue of IDW's reprint series DOCTOR WHO CLASSICS: THE SEVENTH DOCTOR will arrive in US comic book shops this Wednesday, the 9th. IDW has been doing a great job with the series but sales for the first few issues will determine the future of the reprints. Each issue purchased is a vote to keep reprinting. So, please, if you've the opportunity and funds, pick it up.

There isn't going to be any.

At least that's the news that the DWRS received yesterday. The reprints in question will just go live on the sites providing them. We're hopeful that this may be subject to change.

Late last year Society members noticed Bunker Soldiers on sale as an Ebook with several interested put off purchasing as they were unsure if it was a legal copy. The DWRS was able to get word from BBC Books that it was.

So we need to keep being vigilant. As soon as you seen any of the older books being released please contact us so we can let as many fans know as we can.

In the meantime you can read what our own Matthew Kresal has to say about the matter here.

Is out now.
Apparently,
It's in our little shop as of now.

Update: It has been withdrawn. Apparently it was released in error and we should see it again in June.

The DWRS is pleased to welcome Jacopo Camagni aboard as it's newest contributor.
Jacopo is a professional comic book artist and Doctor Who fan.
In the coming months he'll producing covers for our proposed Collections.

Welcome aboard Jacopo!

2011 is promising to be a big year for the DWRS already.
In the next month we'll be re-doing our Little Shop and making it THE place to hunt for old Who books. We'll be posting an interview with a prominant Who author within the next week. There are also plans afoot to move us to our own webpage.
The coming months will also see the Print on Demand of several EDAs and, all going well, the unveiling of the official artist for the DWRS.

Keep watching this space!

Bunker Solidiers by Martin Day is now available for download for Kindle users.
No word about other books being reprinted the same way as yet, but we're hopeful.
In the meantime support the DWRS by downloading Bunker Soldiers through the Little Shop.

The BBC are no longer offering the Ebooks of Lungbarrow, The Dying Days and various other titles.
While this means that there might be more reprints on the way, after all if they're being reprinted why would the BBC offer them for free?
Even so, you should still let the BBC know that you'll miss these books being online.
Contact them here.

Amazon are currently offering the Infinity Doctors for £5.99.

This Tuesday is Doctor Who Day.
To celebrate the DWRS wants you to take a Doctor Who book with you into work. Read it on the buses and trains or  read it in your tea rooms. Just don't read it in your car.
And when people ask why your reading it tell them about Doctor Who day and the DWRS!
